1. All exhibitors must be members of the Society.
2. Each exhibitor (Novice or Experience) may enter 1 design only in each category
3. All materials may come from any source. However, the use of scarce, protected or endangered native plants, such as trilliums etc. requires that the exhibit be disqualified.
4. Natural plant material may be used, including exhibitors' choice of wood, rocks, moss, anything fresh or dried. Accessories allowed as per schedule. Judicious use of treated material allowed.
5. Note: no artificial plant material allowed.
6. Decorative design exhibits, unless otherwise stated, should fit in a 2 foot square.
The judges will look for the following and award points accordingly.
1. Distinction and Condition: Marked superiority in all respects and physical state of plant material at the time of judging.
2. Design: The organization of the elements and principles of design.
3. Conformance:
Compliance with the schedule e.g. space allotted, type of design, plant materials to be used etc.
Interpretation of theme and/or title
4. Creativity:
An original concept in the choice of components and/or principles in the organization of design elements within the limitations of the principles of design.
